WASHINGTON D.C -  Congressman Dan Boren today released the following statement regarding relocation of Gulf Coast evacuees:

“I join with Governor Henry in requesting federal emergency assistance for displaced US citizens from the Gulf Coast.

 

“We are ready to welcome our neighbors, but federal financial support is vital to provide the necessary comfort, medical and educational assistance to the second district’s newest residents.

 

“The leadership of Muskogee County, Oklahoma National Guard, Camp Gruber and the Red Cross should be commended.  We are ready to go to work and try and make everyone as comfortable as possible.”
