WASHINGTON D.C. - The Office of Oklahoma Congressman Dan Boren (D-OK) and northwest Arkansas Congressman John Boozman (R-AR) and will co-host a forum to discuss water quality and protection efforts of the region’s water supply. The forum is scheduled for 10 a.m. on Monday, October 6th at John Brown University in Siloam Springs.
The forum will include presentations and discussions on how we can protect and improve water quality through cooperative efforts between the two states. Presentations and discussions will include Benjamin Grumble (Assistant Administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency), Thomas W. Simpson (Coordinator of Chesapeake Bay Programs at the University of Maryland), and Paul Pinault (past President of the National Association of Clean Water Agencies).
“Water quality is an important issue for every single American, and we all have a stake in protecting it,” Boren said. “I am honored to assist my colleague Congressman Boozman in highlighting the importance of maintaining a safe and clean water supply, and to help further the discussion on the best means of ensuring it’s preservation for future generations of Arkansans and Oklahomans.”
“We must be proactive in monitoring water quality and what we can do to protect this resource,” Boozman said. “We are working together and addressing what can be done to ensure we have a safe, reliable source of water for the future and this forum will help identify additional ways we can cooperate and work together.”
The Forum will be held in the JBU Administrative Dining Room and is open to the public. However, space is limited, so RSVPs are requested (to RSVP, contact: Philip Moore at 479-725-0400).
