WASHINGTON D.C. - U.S. Congressman Dan Boren was recognized today as the “King of the Hill” by the National Franchisee Association (NFA) for providing important leadership on small business issues and policy. The NFA was established in 1988 to service Burger King Franchisees and small business owners.
“I am honored to be NFA’s 2008 King of the Hill, and I pledge to continue my support for policy that allows our small business community to grow in Oklahoma. It is critical to retaining, creating, and bringing quality jobs to eastern Oklahoma,” said Boren.
The “King of the Hill” award is given annually to the Member of Congress that best exemplifies leadership on business issues and policy by either sponsoring legislation or through key votes.
“Small business is the engine that drives our nation and our state’s economic well-being,” Boren said. “It is important that elected officials work with the business community to create quality jobs. By providing economic opportunities here in Oklahoma, our children can live closer to home and we are able to pass on the values that Oklahomans hold dear.”
