BOREN SECURES $450,000
FOR ROAD PROJECT IN DURANT

WASHINGTON, D.C. - U.S. Representative Dan Boren announced today that he has secured $450,000 for the construction of ramps at the intersection of U.S. 69 and Chuckwa Drive in Durant.  The funding was part of the Transportation, Treasury, and Housing Appropriations Act for Fiscal Year 2007 which passed the House today.

“I am extremely pleased that we were able to secure funding for this project,” Boren said.  “This funding will provide better access to Southeastern Oklahoma State University for southbound traffic on U.S. 69.”

“I am committed to providing federal funds for projects like this to build, maintain and repair our infrastructure,” Boren said.  “In Oklahoma, our transportation network is the backbone of our economy and it’s important that we invest in that.”

The Transportation, Treasury, and Housing Appropriations Act awaits action in the Senate.
