WASHINGTON, D.C. - U.S. Representative Dan Boren announced today that he has secured $100,000 for a rural on-campus housing and childcare facility at Eastern Oklahoma State College in Wilburton.  The funding was part of the Transportation, Treasury, and Housing Appropriations Act for Fiscal Year 2007 which passed the House today.

 

 “I am extremely pleased that we were able to secure funding for this project,” Boren said.  “This funding will allow Eastern Oklahoma State to better meet the demands of its student body.”

 

“I am committed to investing in the future of Oklahoma’s colleges and universities,” Boren said.  “The housing and childcare facility will offer students the opportunity to experience college life in a family-friendly environment.”

 

The Transportation, Treasury, and Housing Appropriations Act awaits action in the Senate.
