BOREN SECURES $60,000
FOR SEQUOYAH NATIONAL WILDLIFE REFUGE

WASHINGTON D.C - U.S. Representative Dan Boren announced today that he has secured $60,000 for repairs to the road leading to the Sequoyah National Wildlife Refuge.  The funding was part of the Transportation, Treasury, and Housing Appropriations Act for Fiscal Year 2006 which passed the House today.

“Nearly 70,000 tourists, fishermen and hunters visit the refuge annually,” Boren said.  “Providing funding to asphalt this road could substantially grow these numbers.”

“I am extremely pleased that we were able to secure funding for this project,” Boren said.  “The road leading into the refuge is in desperate need of repair from heavy traffic flow.”

“I am committed to providing federal funds for projects like this to build, maintain and repair our infrastructure,” Boren said.  “The refuge provides an economic boost to the small town of Vian, and I am committed to doing whatever I can to help that economy prosper.”
